Proper Skating Equipment and Attire

CSA Approved hockey/skating helmets are MANDATORY up to level 5. NO BIKE HELMETS

Properly Fitting Skates: single blade, leather, lace up hockey/figure skates

Tips:
  • when standing, skates should be straight up and down and directly under your child
  • ankles should NOT lean in. This is a sign of little/no ankle support and/or the skates fitting too loose
  • skates should be sharpend every 4-6 weeks
  • wear skate guards when not on the ice to prevent nicks in your blades

Warm GlovesNO FUZZY GLOVES. When they tough the ice they leave bits of fuzz behind which is a safety concern as there is a good chance skating over this fuzz will cause skaters to fall

NO trailing scarves, elbow pads, knee pads, or jeans

Dress Warmly! Remember that it is cold on the ice. Snow Pants and Winter Jackets are recommended.
